Ningbo Toprise Security Products Co., Ltd. has been a professional safety shoe manufacturer since 2009. TOPRISE, as a factory with 20 years of experience in the production of safety shoes, strictly does every step of production: cutting, sewing, shoe shape, steel toe and steel sole installation, sole assembly, and strict quality testing, all of which will ensure that each pair of safety shoes produced by TOPRISE not only provides excellent safety protection in complex working environments but is also more comfortable to wear. We will share with each customer the seven key steps in the production of our TOPRISE safety shoes.

Safety shoes production process :

Step 1: Design the style and develop the pattern, cutting the leather.

The first step in making safety shoes is to design the style and develop the pattern, which is usually done by a pattern master. Once the design is complete, the next step is to cut the hide according to the pattern, which is carried out by a cutting master who uses professional tools to cut the hide into the proper shape and size. In the cutting process, special attention should be paid to the treatment of the joint between the leather and the leather to ensure that the structure of the vamp is firm.

When do cutting, which needs to be cut according to the type and size of shoes? It is necessary to pay attention to the waste of materials when cutting and make good use of every piece of material as much as possible.

Usually mass production will use automatic computer cutting. But if the order is very small or just make a sample, we will use manual cutting to save time and cost.

Using automatic computer cutting advantages:

  • Efficient
  • Accurate
  • Maximizing material utilization and minimizing waste

Using manual cutting advantage:

  • Low order quantity
  • Making a sample

Step 2: Sewing

Sewing is the core process of labor protection shoes production, which requires the use of sewing machines.

When sewing, it is necessary to pay attention to the treatment of the thread, so as not to affect the beauty and service life of the shoes.

When sewing, we will add breathable mesh cloth or waterproof film according to customer requirements to enhance the characteristics of the shoe.

Step 3: Steel Toe/Sole Installation

Next, we will place the sewn upper on the last, which will form the basic shape of the shoe. The last is the key mold in the shoe making process, which determines the final shape and size of the labor protection shoes. The steel head and steel bottom that meet the CE standard are installed inside the shoes, and the steel head and steel bottom can greatly reduce the damage of the external environment to the feet and play a role in preventing and reducing the damage. The steel head can effectively reduce the force of external things hitting the toe, thus playing a role in protecting the foot. The steel sole can prevent sharp objects from penetrating the sole and causing injury to the foot.

Step 4: High-Temperature Shaping

After installing the steel toe and sole of the safety shoe, we will give the shoe a high temperature setting.

The main purpose of the high temperature setting of labor protection shoes is to increase the droopy feeling, sterilization, and aesthetic feeling. ‌High-temperature shaping through high temperature and high pressure is needed to maintain the shaping effect of labor protection shoes, which is not easy to wrinkle, so that labor protection shoes can still maintain a good appearance and function after a long time of use. This treatment method not only increases the droopiness of labor protection shoes, makes them hang up neatly and uniformly, which is convenient for daily care, but also has a bactericidal effect, which can reduce the residual formaldehyde in labor protection shoes, and formaldehyde will volatilize at high temperatures, thus reducing the health impact on users. In addition, high-temperature styling can also increase the sense of beauty, make labor protection shoes as a whole more neat and three-dimensional, and improve their visual effect to meet the needs of more and more people for beauty. ‌

Step 5: Sole Attachment

Next, fix the upper and sole. There are different styles of soles for customer’s choice.

  • Dual-Density Injection Sole: The double density injection molding process is used to combine the softer inner layer and the harder outer layer by injection molding. This sole has good wear resistance and comfort, suitable for long periods of standing and workplaces where high durability is required.
  • Single-Density Injection Sole: Single-density injection molded soles are relatively lightweight and use a single material injection molded to provide basic protection and comfort. It is usually suitable for workplaces with low protection requirements.
  • Adhesive sole: The sole is firmly bonded to the upper by high strength glue. The adhesive process has a short production cycle and low cost, but it is usually suitable for labor protection shoes with low protection requirements.
  • Kevlar sewn sole: the sole is sewn to the upper with Kevlar wire for extreme durability and protection. This process is often used in specialized industries that require higher protective properties, such as high temperature or chemical environments.

In order from cheapest to most expensive: cemented sole, single-density injection sole, dual-density injection sole, Kevlar-stitched sole.

Step 6: Quality Testing

Before packaging, we will carry out a series of quality tests on labor protection shoes.

  • Steel head anti-smash test: The steel head is an important protective part of labor protection shoes, mainly used to protect workers’ toes from heavy impact. In the anti-smash test, the impact resistance of the steel head is tested by freely falling a certain weight from a specified height to ensure that the toes can be effectively prevented from being damaged by heavy objects during work.
  • Sole anti-puncture test: The puncture resistance test mainly tests the puncture resistance of the sole to ensure that the sole will not be pierced when the worker steps on a nail or other sharp object. A specific sharp object is usually used to apply pressure to the sole, simulating potential hazards at work.
  • Anti-slip test: Labor protection shoes usually need to be used on greasy, wet, and slippery ground, so anti-slip performance is crucial. The anti-slip test detects the grip and friction coefficient of the sole by simulating a slippery or greasy environment, ensuring that workers remain stable in hazardous environments.
  • Sole wear test: The wear resistance of the sole affects the service life and protective effect of labor protection shoes. The wear test uses specialized equipment to rub the sole to see if it is prone to wear in high-intensity working environments.
  • Upper Tension Test: The firmness of the upper determines the durability of labor protection shoes in harsh environments. Tensile testing measures the tensile strength of the upper when subjected to external forces to ensure that the upper is not easily torn or damaged.
  • Electrical insulation test: For the need to protect the current of the workplace, labor protection shoes need to be tested for electrical insulation. During the test, the shoes are exposed to high voltage to ensure that they have good insulation properties, which can effectively protect workers from electric shocks.
  • Anti-static test: Some industries require labor protection shoes to have anti-static properties to prevent the risk of sparks or explosions caused by static buildup. Anti-static testing measures the resistance of the material in the sole to ensure that it can effectively release static electricity.
  • Chemical corrosion resistance test: For the special needs of the chemical industry, labor protection shoes also need to pass chemical corrosion resistance tests. The upper and sole materials are exposed to corrosive chemicals such as acid and alkali, and their corrosion resistance is tested to ensure that the shoes provide effective protection in harmful environments.

After this series of quality tests, it can be ensured that every pair of labor protection shoes produced by TOPRISE has good protective performance before leaving the factory, can adapt to a variety of complex working environments, and provides reliable safety protection for workers.

Step 7: Packaging

Finally, for the packaging of labor protection shoes, we will help customers customize labor protection shoes color boxes, labels, etc., and before loading into the shoe box, we will clean and check the quality of the shoes.

The production of labor protection shoes needs to go through this series of complex processes. TOPRISE will continue to improve the production process and enhance the quality and market competitiveness of labor protection shoes. If you need protective shoes, please feel free to contact us. We will help you better understand the quality of our protective shoes and our strict production process.
